What goes wrong
What usually goes wrong
Things we look for in the Free Scan. Each one shows from the outside, the way a homeowner sees it.
01
One "areas we serve" page for every city
Movers work in dozens of towns, but many sites have one page with a list of town names.
02
City pages that only swap the town name
Copying one page thirty times with a new town name is what Google's spam rules call scaled content abuse.

03
Quote forms that ask for too much
A form that wants an email, an address and a full inventory before anyone calls back is a lot to type on a phone.
04
No U.S. DOT number on the site
If you move household goods across state lines, federal rules require your company name and your U.S. DOT number in all of your advertising, written as "U.S. DOT No." and then the number.
In Get Customers (Tier 2) and up: moving and junk removal are both on Google's US list for its pay-per-lead ads, and search ads go to the moves and hauls you want. Ad spend is billed separately on top of the tier price.

Real numbers from companies we run
We also run three local service companies of our own, and we use everything we sell on them first. These are companies we run. Client numbers stay private. Each number says where it came from and the dates it covers.

Questions
Questions movers and junk haulers ask us
Do I need a page for every city I serve?
If you want to show up when people search for movers in that city, a page about that city is the strongest answer. The moving and junk removal company we run has moving pages for 27 cities and junk removal pages for 18. Each one has to be worth reading on its own: Google's spam rules warn against pages that only swap the town name.
Does my U.S. DOT number have to be on my website?
If you move household goods across state lines, yes. Federal rules (49 CFR 375.207) require your company name and U.S. DOT number in all advertising for those moves, shown as "U.S. DOT No." and the number. Local moves inside one state follow your state's rules, so check with your state regulator; we do not give legal advice. If you have the number, we put it on every page.
Can movers and junk haulers use Google's pay-per-lead ads?
Yes. Local Services Ads, the ads at the very top with the "Google Verified" badge that charge per lead instead of per click, cover both moving and junk removal.
Ads are in Get Customers (Tier 2) and up. Ad spend is billed separately on top of the tier price, and you decide how much.
We are a new moving company with nothing online. Where do we start?
With your website: the pages people search for and a quick way to reach you. A moving and junk removal company we run in the Seattle area started with nothing online. In its first nine weeks online, from August to October 2026, it got 21 quote requests through its website. The first came in week three, and at least 8 came straight from a Google search.
From the company's own lead list, its first nine weeks online (Aug to Oct 2026).
Type your website. We will look at where you show up for moving and junk removal searches near you, your listing, your reviews and where your calls go. Then we email you what we found.
