What goldclick.co collects, why, who sees it and how to have it deleted, in plain English.

The short version

  • The Free Scan form asks for your business details and how to reach you. We use them to do the scan and to reach you.
  • Our visitor counts set no cookies, store no IP addresses and carry no names.
  • No ads, no third-party trackers, and we never sell or share your details for marketing.
  • The site is hosted by Netlify, which also receives the form.
  • Emails between us are kept in our own admin area and sent through Resend. A video or file link we email you tells us when it is opened.
  • Ask us and we delete your details.

What the Free Scan form collects, and why

When you ask for a Free Scan, the form sends us what you type:

  • Your business: your website (or that you do not have one yet), the business name, your main trade, the jobs you want more of, and the towns or ZIP codes you want more work in.
  • What you want: the goal you pick and, if you answer them, the quick questions: about how many inquiries you get, where they come from, who answers your phone, how fast you usually reply, whether you run ads now and whether you work with a marketing company. If you tick the box for it, the OK for us to send one test request through your website form, clearly marked as a GoldClick test.
  • How to reach you: your name, email and mobile number, how you would like us to reach you, and how you heard about us (with the name, if a friend or client sent you).

We use this to do the scan (how homeowners find your business: your website, your Google listing, your reviews, the ads in your trade and where your calls go), to send you what we find, and to reach you the way you asked. Right after you send it, we email you once to say we got it. We do not add you to a mailing list.

The contact form sends your name, email, business name and phone number if you give them, how you would like us to reach you, and your message. We use it only to reply.

The form also sends a few things you do not type, so we can see where requests come from and spot robots: a random ID your browser makes for the request, the random visit ID described below, the first page you opened on this site, the site that sent you here (for example a search engine), any campaign tags in the link you followed, and the time the form was shown to you.

When a request reaches our server, it also notes the description your browser sends with every request (which browser and which kind of device you use), whether you are on a phone, a tablet or a computer, and the country the request came from. We do not store your IP address with your request.

How we count visitors

We count visits with our own small script, not with Google Analytics or any other outside service. When you open a page, your browser sends our server a short note: which page, what happened (a page view, a button tap, or a step of the Free Scan form), the name of the site that sent you (such as google.com), any campaign tags in the link, whether you are on a phone, a tablet or a computer, and a random visit ID.

To count how many different people visit each day, our server makes a one-way code from the date, your IP address and your browser's description. The code changes every day and cannot be turned back into your IP address. The IP address itself is never stored, and no cookie is set.

Search engine crawlers and other robots are left out of the count. So are the pages that open a video or a file we sent you by email (see Email with us). These notes hold no names, emails or phone numbers.

What we keep in your browser

This site keeps a few small items in your browser's session storage: the random visit ID, the first page you opened, the site that sent you, any campaign tags, and the trade example you picked on the home page, so it stays picked if you come back to that page. While you fill in the Free Scan form, your answers are kept there too, so a reload does not lose them. They are removed when the request is sent. After that, a few small things stay, in this tab's session only: your first name, your business name, your email and how you asked us to reach you, so the thank-you page can greet you and say where we will write, and a note that the request was sent, so going back to the form does not show your answers as if they had not been sent.

Your browser deletes all of it when you close the tab. These items are not cookies, and they only leave your browser inside our visit notes and your Free Scan request.

The only cookie on goldclick.co is the sign-in cookie for our own admin area. Visitors never receive it.

Email with us

Our email addresses end in @goldclick.co, and our older ones in @goldsadri.com, which still reach us. The emails you send to them and the emails we send you are kept in our own admin area, so everyone on our team can follow the conversation: who each email is from and who it went to, the subject, the text, any attachments, and whether an email we sent was delivered. Only the people on our team can sign in and read them. When an email arrives, we may also get a short notice in our own inboxes with who it is from, the subject and its first lines.

We send and receive this email through Resend, an email delivery service. It carries each email between your email provider and ours and tells us whether it was delivered. See Resend's privacy policy.

Some of our emails carry a video or a file as a link to a page on goldclick.co instead of an attachment. That page tells us when it is opened, so the person who sent it knows you got it: the time, whether you were on a phone, a tablet or a computer, how far into the video you watched, and how many times the file was downloaded. To count each viewer once a day it uses the same one-way daily code as our visitor counts. Your IP address is not stored. The person who sent the link may get a short email the first time it is opened. The video plays from our own site, with no outside video player and no tracking script.

We do not share these emails or this record with anyone else, and we never use them for advertising.

Who sees your details

  • Our team. Only the people on our team can sign in and read Free Scan requests and contact messages: Israel Gold, Nadav and Arman Sadri, the three people of GoldClick, and the people who help them with client work.
  • Netlify, the company that hosts this site. It serves the pages, receives the form, runs the code that stores requests, and keeps the stored data for us. Like any host, it sees your IP address when it sends you a page, and its form service records the IP address a form came from. See Netlify's privacy policy.
  • Akismet, the spam filter Netlify runs every form through. See Automattic's privacy policy.
  • Resend, the service that sends and receives our email at goldclick.co and goldsadri.com (see above).
  • Our email provider. Netlify emails each Free Scan request and contact message to our inbox, so a copy is kept there.

Nobody else. We do not sell your details, rent them, or share them with anyone for marketing.

What we do not do

  • No advertising, and no ad or tracking pixels from Google, Facebook or anyone else.
  • No third-party scripts. Every script on this site is our own, and the fonts are served from our own site too.
  • No cookies for visitors.
  • No selling or sharing of your information.

How long we keep it

We keep a Free Scan request or a contact message in our records until you ask us to delete it, so we can follow up and, if we work together, so we have the details of the job. We delete requests we mark as spam.

We keep emails until one of us deletes them. The record of who opened a video or a file we linked to stays with that file until we delete the file.

Our visitor notes hold no names or contact details. We keep them so we can compare one month with another.

Seeing, fixing or deleting your details

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. We give everyone the same choices, wherever you live.

To ask, email hello@goldclick.co or reply to any email we have sent you. You can also use the contact form, with the email address you want us to answer.

How we protect it

Every page is sent over an encrypted connection. Free Scan requests, contact messages and our emails are stored with Netlify, and the only way to read them is through our admin area, which needs a sign-in with a strong password. The site sends strict security settings with every page and loads no outside scripts.

Children

This site is for business owners. It is not meant for children, and we do not knowingly collect anything from anyone under 13.

Changes to this page

If we change what we collect or how we use it, we will update this page and the date at the top.

Who runs this site

goldclick.co is run by GoldClick: Israel Gold, Nadav and Arman Sadri. To reach us about privacy, email hello@goldclick.co, reply to any email from us or use the contact form.
